Tessler Developments Plan Ultra-Luxury Condos for Madison Avenue

May 26, 2015

Tessler Developments, known for its ultra-luxury condominiums, has unveiled plans for a new tower at 172 Madison Avenue.

The glass tower will contain two ground floor retail spaces and 69 residential units, including one, two and three bedroom condos, a “Sky House,” “Mansion” and four penthouses. All units will have ceiling heights of at least 11 feet. The units will be laid out so that there are no more than three per floor, making every unit a corner unit.

According to Real Estate Weekly, Tessler has been tracking condo buyers’ “wish lists” of amenities in order to to create units that are specifically tailored to the market. Those specific details have not yet been revealed — although it is known that one apartment will have its own 50-foot swimming pool — but Tessler is confident that the units will stand out in NoMad’s robust residential market.

The building is being designed by Karl Fischer, with interiors by Shamir Shah. Both have worked with Tessler on previous projects, including 150 Nassau Street and 260 Park Avenue South. Stone columns will punctuate the glass façade, creating a modern aesthetic that pays homage to NoMad’s rich Gilded Age heritage.
